Ms. Okumu holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from Egerton University. She has participated in various legal aid projects organized by Faculty of Law Legal Aid Project (FOLLAP) and Kituo cha Sheria and deeply holds the interests of the community at heart. She is passionate on championing for the rights of the indigent in the society.
As the Coordinator for Siaya County at the Commoner Concerns Centre, Ms. Rebecca is dedicated to advancing the mission of enlightening and empowering the indigent members of our community. With a deep commitment to ensuring that “Your Basic Rights, Our Priority” is not just a slogan but a reality, Ms. Rebecca plays a crucial role in spearheading legal aid initiatives and human rights advocacy within Siaya County. She brings a wealth of experience in legal aid and community outreach, having worked extensively in areas that intersect with poverty and human rights. In this role, she focuses on expanding access to legal services for marginalized populations, addressing systemic barriers, and fostering partnerships with local institutions to promote justice and human dignity.
