Mr. Kenda holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from Kabarak University and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and the Founder and Managing Partner at Kenda and Company Advocates. Additionally, he is an active member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

Being an active human rights defender, he has over the years worked closely with the following organisations: National Legal Aid Services (NLAS), Legal Resources Foundation (LRF), and HIV Free Generation (HFG). Moreover, he is a member of; LSK Pro-bono Sub-Committee of the Child Law Practitioners Committee, and Child Law Practitioners Committee of the LSK.
