MR. STEPHEN MBOYA

Mr. Mboya is a lawyer by profession and is passionate in serving humanity; advancing human rights and social justice. His academic and personal journey has been deeply influenced by a desire to create meaningful, lasting change in the lives of marginalized and underserved communities. As a result, he has constantly engaged with non-governmental organizations which have accorded him a platform to give a voice to the indigent with respect to legal matters. A notable example is his work with Egerton’s Faculty of Law Legal Aid Project (FOLLAP), a Public Benefit Organisation dedicated to taking law to the people, especially the marginalized and vulnerable.

Stephen’s dedication to human rights goes beyond legal theory. He believes in the transformative power of the law, not only as a means of delivering justice but also as a critical tool for promoting social equity. As a student at Egerton University, his roles in organizing and participating in law students moot competitions sponsored by organizations such as FOLLAP, AMKA Africa, The Eagles for Life Kenya, Natural Justice among others has sharpened his advocacy skills, enabling him to navigate complex legal and social landscapes with empathy and insight, thereby making him a great coordinator for our organization in Homa Bay County. In every endeavor, he strives to bridge the gap between legal frameworks and the lived realities of vulnerable populations.
