MR. ALFAYO KIPROP

Mr. Kiprop holds a Degree in Law (LLB) from Egerton University. In the organization, he is the coordinator for Nakuru Town East, Nakuru Town West, Subukia and Bahati Sub-Countie. He has been instrumental in the organization through his commitment to reach out to the residents of his area of coordination with the aim of ensuring that the indigents in the area are well versed with their legal rights and freedoms, and also providing them with the necessary legal aid/services.

Through his engagement with the leadership (i.e. the religious leaders, chiefs, village elders, school heads, among others) of his area of coordination, Mr Alfayo has been able to identify the major obstacles that hinder access to legal aid and other legal services to the people. Eventually, he does convey the same to the organization for necessary amenable actions geared towards finding a lasting solution. Throughout his engagement with the leaders, he managed to deduce a handful of obstacles that have time and again hindered access to justice for the indigents such as lack of legal awareness in the area and illiteracy. Consequently, he does conduct a legal awareness day after every three months as a way of ensuring that the indigents are educated on their rights and freedoms.

Lastly, he has taken a bold move of taking the law to the children and young adults in school by creating legal aid clubs in schools, wherein the students and pupils are enlightened about their rights and those of other people. This move has been made possible by the cooperation given to him by the head teachers of the respective schools. This has been a great precursor to the success of our organization’s vision and mission because the same students and children do assist in taking the law to their parents, neighbors and other relatives.
